It looks as though I lucked out. Because I (a) have no cable tv and (b) can't afford to subscribe to the TV Guide, I had no clue that CBS was scheduled to air the Naudet brothers' documentary, 9/11 tonight opposite the docudrama miniseries on ABC. Fortunately for me, I live among paranoid prudes, it seems, who have decided that a little strong language makes for not-for-primetime viewing.
I have really crappy reception of CBS, anyway, so I would not have been able to watch it at my house, and I know my folks would not have wanted to see something so unsettling... they don't need reminding. They remember vividly, as do I that mind-numbing morning five years ago tomorrow. But even though I remember the news broadcasts, I am still interested in seeing this film, and in having it taped (yes, primitive technology of VCR!).
So tonight, while I tape the "controversial" ABC miniseries, so that I may watch it when my nerves are a little less raw, I will also have the opportunity to postpone the other, factual, affective film until I am a little closer to stable.
