Breaking news at Fox News, again. Richard Pryor, funny man extraordinaire and native of Peoria, IL, has died of heart failure.
I never thought I'd admit it, but his outrageously raunchy material almost always made me laugh out loud, and no time moreso than with the material he contributed to "Blazing Saddles", the funniest movie ever made, IMO.
I know he moved away from Illinois long years ago, but we have always held a place of pride, for him. The laughter he provided, the challenges to the racial status quo which lay beneath, will be missed.
