Cranky Large Medium reading, 15 January

Go away.

Why aren't you gone yet? I wonder...Why? Why? Why? Why? Why you won't go 'way? Be a little runaway. But you still stay. And for what? A mere reading? Ah, well, if it will get you back on the road again, here you are:
You are a real solo act, one of a kind, sharp and shrewish. If you are in any type of business (even "domestic engineer"), you make a lousy employee, so you should try to own the company. Curb your brusqueness with family and employees; you need to learn tact, and you need to develop at least one friendship in your life.
Are you happy, now? Of course not. You wouldn't be happy if that bluebird landed on your head and laid you a whole nest of happiness. But then, you have a whole lot better than these people, all of whom, on this date, flew the coop for good: Philip Warwick, Henry "Hap" Arnold, John Landen, Wilhelm Wirtinger, Ivan Petrovsky, James Hillier, Saint Ita, Fra Paolo Sarpi, Modest Tchaikovsky, Ted Mann, Elizabeth Janeway, Mathew Brady, Yves Tanguy, Dan Lee, Giovanni Battista Sammartini, Enrico Toselli, Dee Murray, Sammy Cahn, Les Baxter, Amos Blakemore aka Junior Wells, Doris Fisher, Coleman Francis, Ray Bolger, Brad Renfro, Fanny Kemble, Dame Peggy van Praagh, Fran Ryan, Ruth Warrick, Bill Masterton, Minnesota Fats, Steve Gromek, David Vanole, Eliza Johnson, Elizabeth Short, William T. Piper, Meyer Lansky, Vera Maxwell,
Jack Teagarden.

and Harry Nilsson.

The years were passing quickly, all right.
Happy birthday, anyway.
