Happy birthday. Mister Lincoln!

Postcard: Mr. Lincoln

On the occasion of the 198th anniversary of his birth, I raise a glass on high and toast the man himself.

I've posted a few words on him (my weekly column for the DRA*), at Friday's Klips: With malice toward none.

I'd also like to add that, in the event you have come to believe the Carl Sandburg books on the man are actual biography, there are plenty of much better sources out there. But the Sandburg is still spiffy to read -- aloud. It is, after all, the work of a poet, rather than historian.

*whose editors very kindly print my work approximately every Friday, at no cost to me.
