There's a school building coming up for sale in Galesburg, soon. What's better, the city has decided to knock off a few thou (75 of them, to be precise) off the bottom bid accepted, so you might be able to buy Allen Park School for $225,000, if you're lucky.
Just think... you could go into competition with the State of IL, if you wanted to. I dare say, it wouldn't be very hard to do better our current educational system. And, considering how much cash the gov has "borrowed" from the teacher's pension program, and how little respect there is for unionized teachers, you could probably lure away plenty of rational, sensible teachers, with the right incentives.
Heck, even I might apply for a job, if the offer were good enough. O'course, if I win the lottery, I'll buy the school myself and turn it into an arts academy with mandatory business management and marketing courses. And I'd take some of those courses, myself.
C'mon. Buy the school. I dare you. It'll go cheaper than a two-bedroom bungalow in Lake
Forest, after all. And it'll be a totally cool investment!
