I have seen a lot of blogging on the man-made humanitarian disasters in the mideast, this week, but very little has come up on the topic of the latest tsunami deaths and damages on Java.
This little island is situated in one of the more seismically active parts of the "Ring of Fire", and has seen quite a few earthquakes over the years, plus, it was hit with a lot of the crunch from Krakatoa, more than a century ago.
People don't always have much of an option as to where they live. If I had any choice, I don't think I'd pick anywhere on Java. But those who had to stay, and have survived the quake in May as well as this tsunami, those people deserve as much help as we can offer.
