Warren County, IL, suffered its first loss in Operation Iraqi Freedom, this week. Navy petty officer 1st Class Gary Rovinski, a seabee reservist from Roseville -- who had, a few years back, served a stint as associate dean of students at my alma mater -- was killed in Iraq on Monday.
From everything I have heard about him, I'm sorry I had not been given the chance to meet him. He will be missed by the community.
