News of fire destroying all the old Wallace and Gromit materials may be, as creator Nick Park has said, "no big deal" in the context of the greater disasters which have recently struck the globe, but it's still a great loss to the art and entertainment world.
No artist wants to hear that a single piece of his work has been damaged, ever. The people who made us laugh for more than a decade, with "Creature Comforts", "A Grand Day Out", and more recently, "Chicken Run" will have none of the remnants from those massive and brilliant undertakings.
