Coastal Miss. Police Using Hand-Me-Downs

This news article via Townhall.com states that many gulf towns hit by the hurricanes are having to improvise their equipment and are pretty much ignoring anything other than keeping looting to a minimum until the towns can get rebuilt. As Danny Glover's "Mal" Johnson says in "Silverado", that ain't right.

Most of us luckier towns ought to be able to -- either singly or in groups -- adopt a town along the ravaged coastlines, and start buying new boots, belts, vests, uniforms, cars, and whatever else, as the need arises, to get these boys out of the blues and back into true blue. I'll be sending this article to a few people I know in our own city offices and local churches, and I encourage others to do the same.

We may not be rich, we should be able to help a little more.
