Cone of Silence lowered on Agent 86

One of my favorite character actors from my childhood, Don Adams, has died.

I'm personally convinced that they patterned the character and the voice of cartoon agent Cool Mc Cool ("Danger is my business!")after Adams' portrayal of CONTROL agent #86, Maxwell Smart. After all, Smart was the coolest secret agent in the history of espionage... Who else could have made a shoe-phone with a dial in the heel succeed, who else had, as a best friend, a robot named Hymie, who else could have beaten every known KAOS agent, from Siegfried to the Craw... er, Claw, and still stayed faithful to 99?

So, the old throwing your voice as a cartoon character trick!
Aside from having starred as Agent "86" Smart, he was the voice of Tennessee Tuxedo and Inspector Gadget ("Go, go, gadget copter!") -- plus, if you listen really hard, would you believe you can hear him as the voice of Comet in "Rudolph, the Red-nosed Reindeer"?

He will be missed by more than "that much".
