I'll cite a little bit from this AP report, and you guess which documents they're talking about(emphasis mine):
"The... memos – all labeled 'secret' or 'confidential'– were first obtained by ... reporter ...
[The reporter] told [news service] he protected the identity of the source he had obtained the documents from by typing copies of them on plain paper and destroying the originals."
No, it's not from Rathergate -- but you're close.
