I made it home from the OFTA meeting I blogged here ("A special 'meet the artists' event will be featured at the June 8 Old Friends Talk Art monthly gathering. The public is invited on June 8 at 10 a.m. for refreshments and the opportunity to meet with a number of artists whose work is on display.") in time to close my car windows against the impending storm -- I rode with my Award-winning Artist Mom, (whose pictured work, here, won last year's Best Of Category: Textiles)
The meeting went well, despite some initial challenges, such as the person scheduled to lead the meeting having not been reminded until 5 minutes after we were supposed to start.
Nevertheless, we had a fairly good showing, and a really good show. If you're ever in the neighborhood of Monmouth, IL, pleeeeeease be sure to stop in to see what's happening at the Buchanan Center for the Arts, right on the town square. We're justifiably proud of the quality and quantity of the art in our community.
