According to this AP article at KWQC Channel 6, Gov. Blagojevich is offering a Japanese drug company $15 million in state incentives if it relocates its offices to Deerfield.
I don't give a rat's patootie that it's a drug company, and that he's been making those noises about high drug prices. What bothers me is this: He's taking tax moneys from all the depressed communities south of Joliet, whose businesses have fled due to the outrageous taxes, and he's bribing a foreign company to invest in another North Chicagoland piece of real estate. Didn't he run for office on the promise that he would help bring businesses to DOWNSTATE? Jeez-O-Pete!
When I was a kid, there was a half-humorous campaign for downstate to secede. I'm beginning to look at Forgottonia a little more fondly, a little more seriously, with each passing day.
