The
Ottawa Citizen reports that military deserter Jerry Hinzman and his wife and son won't get political refugee status, and that he can be extradited to face charges.
It's nice to know that there's at least one judge (actually a board of judges, as it were -- an immigration review board) who doesn't believe that our judicial system will send a man to be tortured and maimed for his political beliefs, and does believe that, if a man signs a contract to serve his country, he should be expected to honor that contract or be ready to face the consequences.
This guy, from all he's said to the press and the courts up there, is a TOTAL jackass, a spoiled brat who wanted a job, but didn't think that he would have to actually do anything for the paycheck and benefits... As the article points out,
"He enlisted voluntarily in the U.S. army for four years in November 2000, planning to have the military later pay for his university education."
Sometimes, I wish our legal and military systems were as vindictive as Hinzman tried to sell them to be, just so he could get a taste of it... he and his supporters deserve a kick in the saddle area with a steel-tipped cowboy boot.
