A brief update to "insane action" below

I have received an e-mail from one of the three to whom I sent my letter regarding the campaign finance reform decisions. So far, the only one of my congressmen who has seen fit to even program his e-mail system to acknowledge receipt of messages is Barack Obama.

Full text of his message is as follows:

"From:
Obama, Barack (Obama)

To: [my personal e-mail address]

Subject:
Thank you

Thank you for contacting my office through email.  While we are able to read all emails, due to the sheer volume of communications we are not able to respond to individual comments.  If you are from Illinois, please go to my website at www.obama.senate.gov and select "contact" to place your comments on the web form.  We will respond to you as soon as possible.  You may also contact any one of our offices by mail, phone or fax:

I have gone to his site, and am in the process of composing a more concise and pointed missive to send through his provided form. No expectations have I built up, though.

I have yet to receive confirmation of the messages I sent to Durbin and Evans, let alone real responses.

I suppose I am now in "crackpot neocon" territory. Sigh.
