Earworm of the Day: Boom Boom Boomerang
I thought I was done with the getting in a car and going to a store, but it's the season for realizing you just ran out of that thing you needed to make that thing… again.
The Mart of Wals and the Aldi store are both across the cornfields, only 25 minutes away, but because of the cost of gas in Illinois, it becomes an event. The Bat and I empty everything out from the car before heading out, because you never know what's going to find its way into the back seat besides bananas and eggs.
Today we got a folding chair. And a whole lot of groceries which barely fit into our fridge and freezer.
It all feels as though I keep coming back to the same thing, though – even down to coming home & finding this track by the DeCastro Sisters on my radio, just a few days ago and then again just now. I guess this is the one real downside to free programmed music.
My attempt at a remedy this afternoon included tracking down some music by the host of the show, Pat Boone, with his less standard selections. It was a good start, but it took an old Elvis Presley number to break the cycle. Not by The King himself, though.
Now I'm humming Elvis hits… not sure how much of an improvement it is, though.
