Today's Earworm: Hamp's Boogie - Lionel Hampton 1988

Some basic boogie-woogie given a major upgrade.

Lionel Hampton was another Great who gave a hand up to numbers of young soon-to-be-great artists (Charlie Mingus and Dinah Washington, to name but two).  For that, he has much respect.

For his music he has much fandom.

And then there was this. He was kind of the full package.

The Bat claims she's seen him live. In his heyday. I claim the right to resent my parents long after my adolescence.
