After all the fuss and feathers about one small paragraph having been leaked out to undermine the Administration's policy in Iraq, the president strikes back. The good news comes from John Hinderaker at Power Line.
It's infuriating that the leak occurred in the first place -- if the POTUS and the Admin were actually doing something illegal, there might be justification for a leak, to, say, the justice department or some other branch of the government... but continued leaking to the press for partisan political gain, whether in peacetime or today, is the height of despicability.
I hope the DOJ tracks down the sources of these damned leaks and stops them hard and fast. Painfully, and with the full force of the law.
And I hope the agents of the press who lap up this partisan crap and spew it out like some ghastly print version of Mister Creosote, perish, due to their own lack of journalistic ethics. May the editors of the NYT & the WaPo feel the ever-tightening noose of lowered readership as the first taste of their afterlife.
