Gratuitous post cards of the day

Okay, part of the reason for postcards is because I've begun trying to catalog the ones I have (hence my absence from the computer for large swaths of my day), so I'm scanning them & keeping them on cd rom for posterity (unh huh. we just like bragging). But the bigger reason for posting postcards (if they've already been through the mail, that makes them posted posted postcards) is that, on a holiday weekend, it's good to write home about the things you love best about where you are. So, as Independence Day weekend is nigh, I've started putting up a few reasons to love America:
