George Carlin, R.I.P.

Via DBKP, the news has come in that George Carlin has died of heart failure, at the age of 71 years.

My first time seeing him perform live was 'way back in 1978, at Charleston, SC, with a bunch of my cousins and their friends. We, along with the rest of the audience, were in a good mood, easy to entertain, and Carlin did not fail -- a few years later, in an interview with Johnny Carson, he was asked if there was ever a show which Carlin thought was his best, and he said, in essence, that everything came together perfectly that one night. I was pleased to have been a part of it, and I know that the master comic will be missed.
