Everybody, sing it, now!

Today marks the 148th anniversary of the birth of Mildred J. Hill, composer of the most-sung ditty in the world, today: "Happy Birthday." Her sister, Patty Smith Hill wrote the lyrics.

For the record, Warner Brothers bought the exclusive rights to the song, and will own it until 2010. At that time, you can all stop singing it, please. There won't be any "man" to stick it to by skirting copyright laws singing it over a pile of sugar, starch and fat decorated by flaming sticks of wax, then.
