Our paper reports that some local kids have been approached by a guy in a new-ish four-door offering them candies, but they were smart enough to go running to their mommies instead of accepting a ride with a stranger.
I feel slightly better about my community's preparedness, now. Still, I can't help but wonder if the creep in the car is somebody I've met, somebody who has already hurt a couple of kids I care about (and, yes, there is confirmation of a second victim)?
