Wild duck in IL found to have bird flu

According to an article in the Sun-Times, varieties of wild duck across Illinois have tested positive for bird flu -- but not the Asian subtype that kills people. In fact, the duckies seem to show no symptoms, themselves, so it's a sissy strain. Still, hunters are reminded to wash their hands when handling wildlife, and to cook the meat thoroughly. No macho gnawing of raw meat, feathers and all, please.

No word yet on any danger from or to Wild Turkey. I think we can plan well ahead for a great Thanksgiving... I'll get started tonight.
