My voice at parties is (gosh darn it!) staying at a mellow contralto, thanks to delays in getting a plant in Qatar and two in Algeria on line. The delays have caused a helium shortage which just might put a damper on Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, as well.
But not only are there going to be problems with all sizes of lighter-than-air crafts getting aloft, it looks as though all sorts of other industries -- including medical imaging!!! -- may suffer from this shortage.
So it's not just about balloons and silly voices. But some little birthday boy down the block is going to be disappointed very soon. We'll have to make do with experiments in static electricity, instead.
