Islamic Fascism a "Western Invention"?

Charles Johnson links some video which indicates it already existed in the Mideast as early as the 1920s (and continues to spread thanks to the efforts of Arafat's uncle*), at lgf: Hitler, the Mufti of Jerusalem, and Islamic Fascism

Anyway, Arab hatred and mistrust of the Jews was not exactly a new thing, even back in the 1920s and '30s. Anybody who says otherwise has not studied a lick of history. It just got worse when Europe's Jewish population was forced to flee to Jerusalem.

* and before anybody brings up the debate over blood kinship of the Grand Mufti to Yasser Arafat, it is my understanding that Arafat himself referred to the Grand Mufti as "Uncle". It may not have been a genetic tie, but certainly there had been a longstanding bond of the basest sort: "There were a number of attempts to get rid of Hajj Amin, whom they considered an ally of the Nazis. But even so, he lived in Cairo, and participated in the 1948 war, and I was one of his troops."
