Senate makes one step forward, two big sidesteps

According to Captain Ed Morrissey, the Senate has voted to eliminate the anonymous "hold" on legislation, wherein a single senator might effectively, anonymously kill any act. They've decided if you want to kill a bill, you ought to put your name on your handiwork.

At the same time, they've decided that earmarks are good, so they're not going to talk about limiting them or any such popular (among us plain folk who blog, for example) notions regarding our tax dollars. And, they're still allowing themselves unrestricted lobby-paid travel a la the Abramoff scandal.

I can't wait until November, now. I say we throw out every single one of those bustards.
