Dad turned 74 today. Per his request (sort of) Mom baked him a loaf of banana bread in lieu of the traditional (and exceedingly fattening) lemon meringue pie he usually gets. (Okay, he actually suggested skipping the whole dessert thing, but Mom had a couple of very old bananas, and, well, what was she to do?)
Anyway, if you have a glass of some fine beverage, lift it at least once in honor of -- and sympathy toward -- the old man what spawned me.
