ISO a SF/ Alternate History author

What with the HAMAS call to Palestinian children to reconquer Seville, and the consistent demand by al Qaeda to return all lands that were once Muslim to Islam, plus the continuous leftist weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth over lands "stolen" hundreds of years ago, and the reparations which must now be made by people who aren't even related to the original sinners to people who are only peripherally descended from those sinned against (whew! I think I should end this sentence!), I'm now in search of an author to carry a premise. Maybe. If it's somebody of the quality of, say, Harry Turtledove or better.

It's just that, this afternoon, my folks, a friend & I were talking about the above-linked article, and we decided it might be fun to examine the possibilities. We laughed at the sheer gall of the demands made by these people.

Suppose we had "returned" all the once-conquered lands to Islam. We could then move all non-Muslims to the remaining places... South Africa, South America, China, Japan, Scandinavia, Great Britain, the Americas, and, of course, Vienna (to name a few). We return the planet to the days and ways of conquerors... except that now, we have modern technology. How's that working for the non-Sharia crowd in Sharialand? How are the friendly Euroleftists who don't mind sharing their block with people who want to kill them for their (lack of) beliefs? And, as the Muslim spirals downward into the new Dark Ages, spurred by the Imams and their view of all things civilized being corrupt, does the rest of the world follow? Or, do we just blow them all to smithereens and wait out the subsequent decades of fallout underground?

Or, suppose we did return all lands to the original owners, as decreed by leftist and anti-American voices. Take out the English-American influence. But don't just stop with returning Virginia to the now-extinct Powhatan and other Algonquin Nation tribes. Let's go ahead and hand the left coast back to the "original owners" of, say, 1750. Russia would own all the land from Alaska down to California's now-flood-stage Russian River, and Spain would hold all of Mexico and be duking it out with Portugal for the majority of South America. Louisiana is still mismanaged by the French (okay, no change there, except on paper). So far so good, but I have one important question:

Do we on the Upper Misssissippi still get riverboat casinos?
