It was forty years ago today that the Fab Four performed before the lunatic mob at Shea Stadium. The concert is referred to as the first musical event to have been held in a sports arena, and more than 55,000 tickets were sold. It is said that, for all the screaming of the crowds, nobody could hear the boys sing and play.
And some of us still wish we had been there.
