I came back from picking up gardening supplies to see that the aftershock in Indonesia had been upgraded from 8.1 on the Richter scale to 8.7, and that, according to this headline, coastalMalaysians told to head for hills after quake just in case.
I hope my old friends in M'sia will forgive me if I say that I'm thankful I'm settled on the edge of Tornado Alley, instead. Here, if the New Madrid Fault starts to shimmy, there's no large body of water to follow up on its actions (or even just threaten).
My prayers to those already taken in the quake, though, and for those still in danger around the waters nearby it.
